Colors of decks explode as people seek to take indoor look outdoors

Decks are getting decked out.

With shades that sound like summer cocktails — Havana gold or tiki torch, anyone? — deck colors have moved far beyond traditional redwood, cedar and gray tones.

“When we started, you could get Trex in any color you wanted so long as it was gray,” said Leslie Adkins, director of brand and integrated marketing at Trex, of Winchester, Virginia, the nation’s largest producer of composite decking.
